The next meeting of the Women’s Group is being hosted and held at St. Luke’s Church, Prodromi, Polis on 17th May at 3 pm.
The speaker is Chris Jones, the President of The Friends’ Hospice, who will talk to us about the work they do for patients suffering life-limiting illnesses. Most of us know of The Friends’ Hospice either through direct or indirect association. The Hospice is instrumental in our Society, so we welcome you to come and listen to the incredible work that is being done to keep this institution in operation.
The Friends’ Hospice Foundation is an independent charity and a member of the worldwide hospice movement. Their mission is to provide Palliative Care for those suffering from a life-limiting illness for which a cure is no longer possible. Palliative Care alleviates symptoms. It does not seek to cure the underlying condition. This care improves the quality of life by means of medical, psychological, emotional and spiritual care.
The meeting is normally for an hour with the ability to interact with the Speaker. After which there are light refreshments and time to socialize with other members.
May meeting update: The Women’s Group had an excellent meeting at St. Luke’s last week with around 21 attendees with Speakers – Chris Jones, President of the Friends’ Hospice and Dr. Aristos Georghiou, Clinical Director of the Friends’ Hospice. Thank you to those who attended and to Chris and Dr. Aristos.
