A First for Paphos.
On Friday 29th June, Paphos hosted the Island Readers’ Day meeting. As it was the Feast day of Peter and Paul, Apostles, we commenced by celebrating the Eucharist which was led by the Reverend Andrew with nine Readers in attendance.
The format of the day, led by Archdeacon John, followed a previous pattern of using our time together to think about specific sermon preparation and preaching. Afterwards we had a chance to catch up with the latest developments in Ministerial training. This was followed by a sandwich and cake lunch, after which we shared information together about our own ministries in our parish contexts. It was an enjoyable day, made even more special because it was the last ‘Readers Day‘ to be attended by Peter Day and Justin Arnott, because on the 7th July they will be ordained as Deacons, in St Paul’s Cathedral in Nicosia. Justin will serve his curacy in the Cathedral and Peter will serve in the parish of Ammochostos.
