On Sunday 21st September 50 parishioners from all three Churches, Ayia Kyriaki, St. Stephen’s at Tala and St. Luke’s at Prodromi, enjoyed a memorable Harvest Lunch at the Vatouthkia Taverna, which although officially classed as Tala is,in fact, situated on the road leading down into the valley from Kili village near Kamares heading for the Adonis Baths. The approach road which deteriorates as you descend eventually leads to the taverna nestling in the hillside, before descending to the Baths beyond.
Despite the fact that the staff were catering for 200 diners, they were as helpful as ever and the three course buffet was well up to their usual standard. The views from the restaurant are magnificent and they and the glorious weather all contributed to an excellent outing. Even the resident donkey put in an appearance across the fields, grazing happily and looking in fine fettle – but maybe this handsome animal is the son of the original that was there last year!
