The community of St. Luke’s Church in Prodromi, Polis, gathered for a joyful Confirmation service on Sunday 16th November conducted by Bishop Michael Lewis and attended by 53 people. St. Luke’s is one of the three congregations of the Anglican Church of Paphos.
Two adult candidates came forward for confirmation: Jayne Preston who lives in Polis with her husband Bill and is a member of St. Luke’s, and David Ogden who lives in Paphos and attends services at Ayia Kyriaki Church with his wife Jasmine and their son, Jay.
Bishop Michael also licensed three Eucharistic Assistants at St. Luke’s: Ray Elliott, Anola Doughty and John Smith, who is also licensed to take communion to people at home or in hospital.
In the evening, the bishop and Julia Lewis also attended the Sung Eucharist at Ayia Kyriaki Church in Kato Paphos, one of the other locations where Anglican services are held every Sunday. The Bishop conducted the service and licensed a Eucharistic Assistant to serve at Ayia Kyriaki Church: Jacky Cotterill.
